Thank you to our 2022 Partners!
Who We Are...
The Women in the North Conference has been growing and gaining popularity ever since the first event in 2007. Our mandate is to bring training, networking opportunities, motivation and information to women in business and leadership positions. Every year we strive to raise the bar by bringing in expert speakers, motivational topics, engaging activities and we invite you to invest in yourself!
In 2022, we are very excited to be going on the road and bringing the WIN Conference to a town near you. Our CF region covers a very large area and we recognize that it is not always easy for busy business owners to take time out of their week to travel. So we are making it easier for you to attend, while still bringing you excellent information, networking and fun!
The WIN Conference is hosted by Community Futures Peace Country and led by Sherry Crawford – Business Analyst and Lead Project Coordinator & Vanessa Burns WIN Project Coordinator. Our amazing Steering Committee includes Deanna Basarab – Alberta Labour & Immigration, Holly Sorgen – Community Futures Grande Prairie, Marcela Mandeville & Catherine Larose – Alberta Women Entrepreneurs, Stacey Messner – HR Consultant, Kathy Archer – Silver River Coaching, Jasmine Downing – Aspen Grove Spa & Shannon Gadsby – Farmers Restaurant. With the guidance of CFPC General Manager Randy Hodgkinson and admin support from Sheila Blumentrath, we deliver an excellent event every year!
What We Do...
The WIN conference focuses on building the capacity of our local women entrepreneurs and we strive to offer information pertinent to their needs in a time frame that they can manage. We are committed to supporting the economic growth of female entrepreneurship.
Community Futures Peace Country hosts the Women in the North Conference and exists to serve entrepreneurs. We offer year round counseling, business planning and training. We are a developmental lender with the ability to offer loans up to $150,000.
We also offer monthly Lunch & Learn sessions in our board room usually on the third Wednesday of the month. Session topics range from finances, social media, human resource issues, government programs and much more. In person L&L’s are currently on hold, but we are continuing to offer virtual sessions via zoom.
